Digitization Volunteer, Registration Section
This position assists in the Museum’s ongoing digitization project to preserve and make accessible records that document the Museum’s collections and history. The primary task involves scanning documents, as well as organizing physical and digital records. Training on the Museum’s documentation systems and scanners will be provided.
This position offers first hand behind-the-scenes experience in the Museum. Volunteers will learn how information is managed while contributing to the preservation of an important resource for use by present and future generations of students, staff, professors, scholars, and museum visitors.
A minimum of two hours per week is required. Work times are flexible but must be scheduled between the hours of 8:30-4:30 Monday through Friday.
- commitment to volunteer 2-4 hours per week for a minimum of one semester
- excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- background, knowledge or interest in libraries, history, museum studies, information science or related field
- familiarity with scanning
