Spurlock’s artifact storage facility is always changing as staff work to provide a safe environment for the long-term preservation of the museum’s growing collection.

To meet these goals, Collections assistant Scarlett Andes built an innovative storage mount to stabilize a collection of artifacts made from plant reeds. Using ethafoam tubing with carved channels, she was able to provide cushion to the artifacts and prevent the reeds from rolling within the storage drawer. The new mount works great and even makes the drawer more efficient.
