In June of 2003, Mrs. Ginny Emery graciously gave 9 pieces of traditional Albanian clothing to the Spurlock Museum, augmenting the Museum's collection of ethnic clothing that spans the globe. In the past, Albanians could identify each other by the way they dressed. Each region had its own specific style of clothing which was influenced by ethnic tradition and religion and varied by geographic area, gender, and age. Currently this type of distinctive clothing can be seen at theatrical or folkdance performances.
