"Ngere face mask, of highly abstract form, with gaping mouth open and inset with metal teeth and a red metal protruding tongue, broad flattened nose, four pierced tubular projections and pierced narrow eyes below a low projecting forehead, ornamented with tufts of hair and fiber, and an encircling beard of wood tooth-like pendants and human hair; brown patina with remains of red pigment, the back perimeter pierced for attachments." - Sotheby's, Lot 145
