Employment Position Description
Title/Position:
This opportunity celebrates the junction of culture and technology by providing information and technological support and resources for staff and various external communities. The main duties include developing website content (including CSS and PHP), troubleshooting hardware and software issues on the Museum’s network (90% Apple), and database development within the Museum’s extensive Filemaker Pro relational database system.
Responsible, dedicated, and conscientious service is expected, and the opportunity for growth (in skills and responsibilities) is significant. Those who work well with others and can manage multiple projects at once will excel in this position.
Required Attributes/Qualifications:

- Active undergraduate student standing
- Experience in a web-based programming language (PHP, Java, etc.)
- Experience with database design (e.g. Filemaker Pro, etc.)
- Experience creating complete web pages (using Dreamweaver or similar program)
- Knowledge of, and desire to work with, Apple computer systems
- Strong attention to detail
- Organized and efficient at multitasking, in order to manage multiple concurrent projects
- Able to learn processes and ideas quickly (and independently, if necessary)
- Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot malfunctioning software and hardware
Strongly Preferred, but Not Required:
List of Preferred, but not required Qualifications
- Experience developing web pages for Universal access (including CSS layout)
- Qualification for Federal Work Study Aid
- Availability during academic breaks
Hours and Wages:

- Scheduled work hours are flexible from 8a-5p weekdays, 10-20 hours/week.
- Academic break work is available up to 30 hours/week.
- $10.25 / hr
