Our performers:
Rocky Maffit and Chad Dunn
Rocky Maffit and Chad Dunn are local Champaign-Urbana area favorites who present exciting programs on world percussion that interlink music, history, geography, and humor. Highly accomplished individual musicians and teachers, they have played together since 1998. Their acclaimed duet concerts and workshops have been enjoyed by thousands of people of all ages.
The Dorians
The Dorians are a three-man band from Carbondale, Illinois, specializing in traditional dance tunes and ballads from Ireland and its neighbors. They perform on fiddle, guitar, concert flute, whistle, and keyboard, and have made concert appearances throughout Illinois as part of the Illinois Arts Council ArtsTour program. Each member has also studied music in Ireland and played in sessions there. They are the host band for the annual Southern Illinois Irish Festival.
Kim Sheahan
Kim Sheahan is the Spurlock Museum’s Assistant Director of Education and resident storyteller. She performs folktales from around the world for audiences of all ages throughout central Illinois.
