SUMMARY;LANGUAGE=en-us:"Tales Workshop: The Four Directions of Storytelling"
DESCRIPTION:"\rThe Four Directions invite us to walk in balance and beauty connecting all beings in life. A human being is composed of emotions, body, spirit, and mind. Each of these is a quadrant of the circle formed by the Four Directions. The story lives through the teller as the teller leads the audience through each quadrant. An important aspect of this is the transition from the teller telling the story to the story telling the teller. If that makes no sense to you, then this is the workshop for you.\r\rThe essential elements address memory, movement, insight, and styles of sharing. The workshop includes a methodology for internalizing the story so that the audience readily experiences the story. One section of the workshop addresses the voice of the storyteller, whether the storyteller is a character telling a story or a storyteller telling about a story, which is essential in historical reenactment storytelling.\r\rThis year's presenter is Fred A. Shaw, a teller of Shawnee heritage. Learn more about him and register for the workshop by downloading the workshop brochure.\r\rWinter Tales events are sponsored by an endowment from Reginald and Gladys Laubin.\r"
