SUMMARY;LANGUAGE=en-us:"“Ask Drs. Klez\" Veretski Pass, Klezmer Music Trio"
DESCRIPTION:"\rVeretski Pass is the premier trio of traditional Klezmer music. Cookie Segelstein plays violin, bass and basy are played by Stuart Brotman, and the accordion and tsimbl are played by Joshua Horowitz. These three musicians offer a unique and exciting combination of virtuosic muscianship and raw energy that has excited concertgoers around the world. Playing in an unbound, energetic village style, this band of veterans plays Jewish instrumental music of historical Eastern Europe; melodies from Ukraine, Carpathian-Ruthenia, Bessarabia, and Rumania. Much of this rare music has been gleaned from field recordings gathered by the musicians themselves in numerous trips throughout Europe.\r\r\"Ask Drs. Klez\" is a workshop on Klezmer music. Questions from the audience are pooled at the beginning and selected quickly on site. The immediate interests of the audience govern the class. The trio seamlessly joins talking, demonstration, and playing recorded examples of Klezmer music. In order to warm up the audience as they enter the hall, the trio plays a traditional welcome piece to greet them. When the doors are closed, the trio immediately asks the audience to ask virtually anything.\r\rMuseum visitors are reminded that food and drinks are not allowed in the Museum. Backpacks and other large items brought to the Museum will have to be stored; there is limited locker storage space available for these items.\r"
