DESCRIPTION:"\rPart of the David Kinley Lecture Series\r\rEach year, the Department of Economics at the University of Illinois is proud to invite one of the leading scholars in the profession to deliver a public lecture to help celebrate David Kinley's contribution to the University and the economics profession. This year, we are proud to welcome Professor Guido Imbens.\r\rProfessor Guido Imbens is a Professor of Economics at the Stanford Graduate School of Business since 2012. His expertise is in theoretical and applied econometrics with particular emphasis on questions of identification and estimation of causal effects.\r\rThis lecture is presented by the Department of Economics. David Kinley is the most distinguished and important economist in the Department's history. He founded the Department, served as its first Head, and in 1913 was its second member to be elected President of the American Economics Association. He went on to serve as President of the University of Illinois from 1920–1930 with great success. To honor David Kinley, his family has generously endowed this public lecture series.\r"
