SUMMARY;LANGUAGE=en-us:"Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon"
DESCRIPTION:"\rLast year, through Art + Feminism, more than 2500 participants created or improved over 6500 articles on Wikipedia. In connection with Art + Feminism, the Spurlock Museum, University Library, Native American House, and Women’s Resources Center at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign are co-sponsoring a Wikipedia edit-a-thon. Inspired by women artists of the W. Dale and Jeanne C. Compton Collection of Native American Art at Spurlock Museum, the edit-a-thon seeks to update and add Wikipedia entries of Pueblo women artists from the American Southwest. \r\r\r\r9/22/2018\r\rPeer mentor training will be offered on 9/23/2018 for high school and university students interested in acting as peer mentors for the Edit-a-Thon. Pre-registration is required.\r\r\rArt + Feminism (external link) is a campaign aimed to improve the coverage of cis and transgender women, feminism, and the arts on Wikipedia. Art + Feminism teaches people of all gender identities and expressions to edit Wikipedia. \r\r\rOUR PARTNERS:\r\rUniversity Library (external link)\rNative American House\r (external link)\rWomen’s Resources Center\r (external link)\riSchool at Illinois\r (external link)\r\r\rThe above image is a picture of a vessel entitled \"Water Woman\" by Victoria Tsosie (Dine, Navajo).
