SUMMARY;LANGUAGE=en-us:"Virtual Exhibit Opening: Debates, Decisions, Demands: Objects of Campaigns and Activism"
DESCRIPTION:"\rJoin us for a *virtual* opening of Spurlock's new exhibit, Debates, Decisions, Demands: Objects of Campaigns and Activism, which will include a walkthrough with the curator, Professor Nathan Tye. After the walkthrough, Tye will be on hand for a Q&A and conversation about objects in the exhibit and his curation process.\r\rWatch the exhibit opening event\rhere (external link).\r\r\rRegister (external link)\rAbout the exhibitPresidential campaigns produce all manner of memorabilia. In our time, we have President Trump’s white on red MAGA hats and Joe Biden’s aviator sunglasses. Campaigns throughout history, too, have been accompanied by material objects that reflect cultural interests and stereotypes of their times. And yet, outside of mainstream politics, there are voices that have been silenced. Historical photographs and objects from voter rights movements like abolition and suffrage are also included in this exhibit; as are photographs from contemporary protest movements.\r"
