DESCRIPTION:"\rAs part of the Museum's annual Winter Tales event, the Museum will host the workshop “Native American Storytelling for the Non-Native Teller,\" presented by Tim Tingle. Tim is an enrolled member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, a nationally renowned speaker and storyteller, and an award-winning author of Native American fiction and folklore. In this workshop, Tim presents his belief that stories are meant to be shared, knowledgeably and respectfully. Included is a fun and revealing Multiple Choice and True-False exam of Native American stereotypes. Winter Tales events are sponsored by an endowment from Reginald and Gladys Laubin and co-sponsored in part by the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency.
