Bianchi\rProfessor and Chair of Sociology, University of Maryland\r\rDr. Bianchi was named a 2003-2004 University of Maryland Distinguished Scholar-Teacher and served as Director of the Maryland Population Research Center from 2001-2004. She is a Past-President of the Population Association of America (2000) and editor of the journal, Demography (2005-2007). Prior to joining the Maryland faculty in 1994, she served as Assistant Chief for Social and Demographic Statistics in the Population Division of the U.S. Census Bureau.\r\rDr. Bianchi is a family demographer whose research focuses on American family life, time use, and gender equality. She has co-authored six books, including Changing Rhythms of American Family Life (with John Robinson and Melissa Milkie, 2006) and Continuity and Change in the American Family (with Lynne Casper, 2002). Dr. Bianchi holds an M.A. in Sociology from the University of Notre Dame and a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Michigan.\r\rMuseum visitors are reminded that food and drinks are not allowed in the Museum. Backpacks and other large items brought to the Museum will have to be stored; there is limited locker storage space available for these items.\r"
