SUMMARY;LANGUAGE=en-us:"Bolivia's Flamboyant Carnival: Dancing Devils, Angels, and Llama Herders on Parade!"
DESCRIPTION:"\rPresenting Bolivia's Carnival in the highland mining town of Oruro, Cynthia LeCount Samaké draws upon twenty years of field research and her many friendships with the mask makers, costume embroiderers, dancers, and musicians who take part in the dazzling annual celebration. \r\rThis event is held in conjunction with the ¡Carnaval! exhibit and sponsored by the Spurlock Museum Guild Performance and Lecture Series. It is co-sponsored by the Dorothea S. and Norman E. She has also taught many Andean technique classes in various venues, even on Holland America cruises to South America. For many years, Cynthia taught \"World Textiles\" at the University of California-Davis Design Department. Now she leads textile and festival tours to many countries around the world through her \"Behind the Scenes Adventures\" travel company. \r"
