In this talk, she presents the latest work from the marvelously creative textile artists who live in remote Andean villages. Visit the Andes with Cynthia through her superb photographs and entertaining tales! \r\rThis event is held in conjunction with the ¡Carnaval! exhibit and sponsored by the Spurlock Museum Guild Performance and Lecture Series. It is co-sponsored by the Dorothea S. and Norman E. Whitten Museum Fund, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Mid-America Arts Alliance. \r\rPresenter Cynthia LeCount Samaké wrote the award-winning book Andean Folk Knitting: Traditions and Techniques from Peru and Bolivia, now out of print, and has taught classes and has been keynote speaker at Stitches West and East. She has also taught many Andean technique classes in various venues, even on Holland America cruises to South America. For many years, Cynthia taught \"World Textiles\" at the University of California-Davis Design Department. Now she leads textile and festival tours to many countries around the world through her \"Behind the Scenes Adventures\" travel company.\r"
