SUMMARY;LANGUAGE=en-us:"Camp Olympus: Day Camp for Kids"
DESCRIPTION:"\rIn Camp Olympus, young fans of Ancient Greece and Percy Jackson will spend time in the Ancient Med gallery and make projects related to mythology and the popular Rick Riordan novels.\r\rThe Lightning Thief introduces readers to Percy and the gods and goddesses of Ancient Greece, and starts with a memorable visit to the Met Museum. Spurlock educators will take campers into the galleries to look at amphoras, statues, and other artifacts and teach them to make their own paper maché amphora (painted with a mythological scene), drachmas with images of Pegasus, Zeus, Athena, and more (using molds made from teaching artifacts), and a sword (like Percy’s “Riptide”). Afternoon breakout sessions will allow campers to create a specialized project: Grover’s satyr hooves and horns, Poseidon’s trident and beard, or Athena’s owl. \r\rRecommended for children age 7 - 13. Space is limited to 16 participants.\r\r"
