Film: Hmong Memory at the Crossroads directed by Safoi Babana-Hampton, Swarnavel Eswaran-Pillai, and Cyril Payen

Hmong Memory at the Crossroads is a documentary that weaves the stories of three generations of Hmong refugees in the US Midwest and France. This screening features an introduction by director Safoi Babana-Hampton (Michigan State) and a panel discussion featuring Fiona NgĂ´ (Asian American Studies/GWS), Jean-Jacques Poucel (French and Italian), and Michael Rothberg (English/HGMS).

This event is hosted by the The Initiative in Holocaust, Genocide, and Memory Studies and the Department of English and is co-sponsored by Humanities Without Walls, Illinois Program for Research in the Humanities, Center for East Asian and Pacific Studies, Department of Asian American Studies, Department of French and Italian, Department of History, Program in Comparative and World Literature, Program in Jewish Culture and Society, and the Unit for Criticism and Interpretive Theory.
