Self-Guided Tour

Group Size: 50 people maximum, based on staff availability
Cost: no charge
Age: all ages

We welcome instructors and group leaders to lead tours or activities that they have created in our galleries . You may use any of the galleries, focusing on just one or visiting all of them, including the special temporary exhibits on display in the Campbell Gallery. We have equipment and supplies that can support your visit, such as clipboards, pencils, portable stools, and gallery activities.

Throughout the year, many days are heavily booked with K-12 or University students occupying multiple galleries. Please contact the Museum at least three weeks ahead of time to ensure that your visit is on a day when access to all/most galleries is possible. Contact us to book your visit and let us know your needs.

Educators

We recommend the following chaperone/student ratios for visiting K-12 groups:

Pre-K–2nd grade: 3 chaperones per 25 students
3rd–5th grade: 2 chaperones per 25 students
6th–12th grade: 1 chaperone per 25 students

staying with your group at all times, unless you are escorting a student to the restroom.
helping all the students to follow the stated rules and instructions.
keeping your phone use to a minimum, unless you are helping students to find information on the artifacts by using the QR codes on the display cases.
