
An Artifact Speaks: India Kit
Artifacts included in this box lead to discussions of Hinduism and the multicultural spice trade. A recording of a folktale performance about Ganesha is included. Activities follow a 6th grade social studies curriculum but are usable by instructors in many grades and disciplines. There is no fee for the loan of these materials.
Objects
The India kit includes a statue of Ganesha, a masala dabba, a thali set, jars of spice and herbs, artifact information sheets, lesson plans, and a CD of the folktale, "How Ganesha Got an Elephant Head". Activity videos are also available below.
