
An Artifact Speaks: Introduction and Assessment Kit
The activities in this box introduce students to the basic concept of artifacts and objects from Mesopotamia, Egypt, India, China, Greece, and Rome. Activities follow a 6th grade social studies curriculum but are usable by instructors in many grades and disciplines. There is no fee for the loan of these materials.
The activities can be repeated at the end of the year as an assessment of what students have learned.
Objects
The Introduction and Assessment kit includes a chinese chop set, palette of narmer, statue of athena, statue of gudea, saris, variety of keys, artifact information sheets, and lesson plans. Activity videos are available below.
