Enhance your Spurlock Museum experience with activities in the Zahn Learning Center. During ZLC Open Hours (ZLC OH), visitors can enjoy exhibit or cultural-related crafts, and access to teaching artifacts and books. $2 per crafter to cover materials. Weekend parking is free in non-metered, non-reserved spots in lot D 22, behind the Museum (enter lot on Oregon).
Inspired by the mittens in the special exhibit," North of the Northern Lights", ZLC staff are offering visitors a chance to use felt, buttons, yarn, and shrink plastic claws to repurpose a sweater into a pair of gloves with some wild touches of imagination. Take a tour of gallery artifacts that show the clever strategies humans use to stay warm or keep a body protected. $5 per crafter includes a sweater, or bring your own sweater and pay $2; museum admission is free. We will have 10 or so sweaters on hand, crafters who want to guarantee a spot can call or email at the contact info below.
