Zahn Learning Center Open Hours: Chinese New Year, Year of the Rooster

Enhance your Spurlock Museum experience with activities in the Zahn Learning Center. During ZLC Open Hours (ZLC OH), visitors can enjoy exhibit or cultural-related crafts, and access to teaching artifacts and books. $2 per crafter to cover materials. Weekend parking is free in non-metered, non-reserved spots in lot D 22, behind the Museum (enter lot on Oregon).
Lunar new year revelers can enjoy a wide variety of crafts and activities to celebrate the year of the rooster, 2017. Learn about the animals in the Chinese zodiac and the traits of each animal. Fold an origami rooster, or try writing in calligraphy using a bamboo brush on our buddha boards . Decorate a red scroll using year of the rooster stickers and our Chinese character and zodiac rubber stamps. Have your fortune for the new year told by ZLC staff, and make a wish for 2017 by tossing a pipe-cleaner orange into our miniature cherry blossom tree.
