The family-friendly Cultural Celebrations Performance Series highlights music, dance and storytelling from around the world on the 4th Sunday of the month from 1:00—1:45pm.
Kath Brinkmann been telling stories all her life, turning professional with the turn of the century. She is a founding member of the C-U Storytelling Guild and has told at the U of I Youth Festival, the Urbana Park District Chautauqua Centennial Celebration, the Cape Girardeau Storytelling Festival, and the Sterling Storytelling Festival, as well as numerous smaller venues. From 2008 to 2012, she produced and hosted "The Stories We Tell," a program of recorded concerts and interviews with authors and storytellers televised on UPTV cable channel 6. Kath has a master’s degree in Folk Tales and Storytelling from the University of Illinois in Springfield and has co-authored The Gift of the Unicorn and Other Animal Helper Tales for Storytellers, Educators, and Librarians with award-winning teller Dan Keding.
