Part of the Flatlands Dance Film Festival

Each fall, Dance at Illinois presents a variety of films and shorts dedicated to dance performance, dance for camera, influential artists in the field, and the social impact of dance across the world. The Flatlands Dance Film Festival also hosts a film competition for aspiring dance filmmakers.

Dance at Illinois believes the festival exemplifies its commitment to promoting and expanding the role of dance in our community. As Dance at Illinois strives to present stellar performances on our stages, it recognizes the vast potential for the choreographic to infuse the cinematic.

This event is organized by Dance at Illinois. The Flatlands Dance Film Festival would not be possible without the support from corporate and individual donors. The festival thanks the Department of African American Studies, Dixon Graphics, Krannert Art Museum, Miga, the UP Center, Ella Van Wyk and Christopher Kienkle for their support of the 2017 festival.
