Flatlands Dance Film Festival – Short Films Program

This year's short film competition yielded the most submissions in our festival's history with over 460 submissions from 59 countries! The evening's competition films were adjudicated by Jerry Carden, Lisa Dixon, and Fabiola Elias and include the following selected films:

This event is part of the Flatlands Dance Film Festival. Each fall, Dance at Illinois presents a variety of films and shorts dedicated to dance performance, dance for camera, influential artists in the field, and the social impact of dance across the world. The Flatlands Dance Film Festival is also host to a film competition for aspiring dance filmmakers. Dance at Illinois believes the festival exemplifies its commitment to promoting and expanding the role of dance in our community. As Dance at Illinois strives to present stellar performances on our stages, it recognizes the vast potential for the choreographic to infuse the cinematic.
