Bollywood Netflix Party: Stree (2018)

  • Dir. Amar Kaushik
  • 2018
  • 2h 9 min

This Hindi-language horror-comedy takes a new look at a folk legend, centering on a ghostly bride and the terror she invokes in men who dare to come out at night. Combining comedy and horror, Stree flips the traditional narratives about women’s fear and punishments inflicted on people who transgress social norms. Special guest Aditi Sen of Queen’s University will join the hosts for the film and discussion.
