A student investigates his father’s disappearance amid armed political conflict in Kashmir in the 1990s. Haider completes the director’s trilogy of modern Indian settings of Shakespearean plays (Maqbool/Macbeth is updated mobsters in Mumbai and Omkara/Othello to political thugs in small-city northern India).
