The Contemporary Conversations program series explores conversations around contemporary cultural issues, themes, and ideas. The Spurlock Museum is hosting a conversation to connect with the exhibit Debates, Decisions, Demands: Objects of Campaigns and Activism. This exhibit highlights objects that “convey a devotion to a set of ideals, positions, and possibilities” and “attest to the enduring power of democracy and political participation in the United States” (quoted from the exhibit text).
This virtual program, “Debates, Decisions, Demands—The Political Landscape of Illinois,” is scheduled for Thursday, November 5, 2020 from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm (Central) and explores notable campaigns and past political issues that have shaped contemporary Illinois.
This program is moderated by exhibit curator Dr. Nathan Tye, Assistant Professor of History at the University of Nebraska, Kearney.
