The Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies (REES) 200 class is a survey of the societies and states formerly constituted as the Soviet Union. As part of their class assignments, students were asked to choose an artifact from the Spurlock collection and write a biography for it. The research papers were then made available to the Spurlock registration section so that our database information could be updated.
This mutually beneficial collaboration provided an opportunity for students to research history and contextualize the objects they chose and provided the Museum with valuable information on existing collections. Objects the students selected are displayed in this exhibit.
