Spurlock Sundays: Let's Go Fly a Kite

Ready to spring into Spring? Join Spurlock staff in constructing and decorating a variety of kites to fly in the breeze! Did you know that people have been flying kites for over 2,000 years—and not always for fun? Kites have been used in fishing, bridge construction, and dropping messages to prisoners of war and propaganda leaflets to enemies.

About the Series

Spurlock Sundays are free, drop-in programs held on the second Sunday of the month from 1:00 to 3:30 pm and are open to visitors of all ages. Spurlock Sunday activities can include crafts, performances, and hands-on experiences with cultural artifacts.
