Hands-on

Spurlock hosts Medieval Marvels

The Spurlock Museum is pleased to offer Club Invention’s Medieval Marvels, a hands-on summer enrichment program that blends science and history. Medieval Marvels focuses on the lifestyles and scientific ideas of Medieval Europe. Participants will build (drawbridges, towers, catapults), create (jewelry, coats-of-arms), and spend time in the Spurlock Museum’s Gallery of European Cultures. Museum educators will further supplement club activities with books, video, and artifact handling. Registration for the 3-day program ends June 6, costs $70, and is open to children 7 to 12 years old. Space is limited to 22 participants.

Developed by the National Inventors Hall of Fame, Club Invention provides an interactive experience through inquiry-based learning. Club members participate in hands-on activities where they can role play, design, build, create, and explore. Club Invention is a shorter, smaller offshoot of NIHF’s Camp Invention.
