Film: "The Islands of the Shark: Guardians of Malpelo" (2025)

As part of Homecoming festivities, join the College of Media for a screening and Q&A with filmmaker and UIAA 2025 Illini Comeback Award winner Annie Crawley (BS '90, journalism), with her film The Island of the Shark: Guardians of Malpelo. Her film reveals the heroic and often perilous work needed to protect marine life and our oceans. Crawley is an underwater photographer, children’s book author, and advocate for oceans and aquatic wildlife.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Crawley, led by Alison Davis, senior lecturer of journalism. Participants may also join the Q&A by registering for the Zoom link (external link).
