One of the most destructive forces to confront museum artifacts is one of the smallest: insects. Behind the scenes, Spurlock Museum staff members work hard to kill the bugs without damaging the objects. On January 14 through 16, an exciting and innovative method for stopping infestations—a portable heating tent—will be in use and on public display in the Museum.
On Thursday, January 16 from 9-noon, come see the Collections Managment staff inspect and clean one of the museum's favorite artifacts the Barong ket (2002.17.0001) in the Americas Gallery.
