
Film Screening and Discussion: "500 & 5"

500 & 5 is an independent Tamil feature film exploring the journey of a 500 rupee note and how it impacts the lives of five different characters, presented in five short vignettes. The film was produced by Accessible Horizon Films, an independent film collective based out of Pondicherry, India. The film will be presented with English subtitles.
Immediately following the screening, there will be a discussion of the film featuring one of the film creators, Kousalya Jeganathan.
This event is hosted by the International and Area Studies Library at UIUC, the Center for South Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, and the Spurlock Museum.
