Research Remarks

Description

Attic Pattern Lekythoi.
Echinus mouth, flat and unglazed on top. Cylindrical body tapering to disk foot. Interior of mouth glazed, neck reserved. Rays, with tongues above, on shoulder. On body, chain of upright palmettes and lotuses. Three reserved bands below main design, edge of foot reserved. -- Wisseman, Corpus Vasorum Antiquorum, Plate 31, 2.
