Description

ATTIC WHITE-GROUND PATTERN LEKYTHOI
SHAPE AND ORNAMENT Flaring mouth, flat and unglazed on top. Tapered cylindrical body, disk foot. Interior of mouth glazed to top of neck. Rays on the shoulder, with tongue pattern above. Lip and neck reserved and covered with a red wash. Three reserved bands on the lower body. Side of foot reserved. On body, ivy leaves with dot clusters bordered above and below by triple checkerboard bands. Beldam Workshop (?) -- Wisseman, Corpus Vasorum Antiquorum, Plate 31, 3.
