Description | FERTILITY GODDESS: Teracotta figurines with enlarged breasts and genitalia have been found at temple sites and tombs of the 3rd and 2nd millenia BCE in Mesopotamia and Syria. Frequently these devotional objects hold their breasts cupped in their hands, a gesture associated with Inanna, the Sumerian goddess of love and fertility. |
