Research Remarks
Published Description | Rogers: A one inch cylinder made from a reddish whilte stone. This is a very artistic seal, and one of the most interesting in the collection. The most prominent part of the design is the conventional sacred tree. The sun God, dressed in a straight line robe, stands on the top of an altar, with both hands outstretched. In one hand he holds the sun and in the other a half-moon. On either side of the god stands a figure, mall in stature, and with hand raised. Porada: Conventionalized sacred tree. Sun god stands atop an altar with both hands outstretched. In one hand he holds the sun; in the other, a half-moon. On either side of the god stands a small figure with one hand raised. Porada questions this piece's authenticity. |
