Research Remarks
Published Description | Roger: A haematite seal with a three column inscription. This pictures a seated god and another figure in similar dress standing behind the throne. While the suppliant approaches with both hands raised. All three of the figures wear the Shumerian dress and the high pine tree effect head-dress. The symbol is perhaps that of the Moon God, with the old moon holding the new moon in its arms, or again, it is similar to the sumbol used on seal picturing Ramman and Shala. Porada: An enthroned deity (holding a staff or sprinkler) between two suppliant goddesses. In the field: A sun-disk in a crescent before, and a mongoose in the sky behind the seated deity. Terminal: inscription. dAmurru/mar dan.na/KUR EL.LA.SI.A |
