Research Remarks
Published Description | Rogers: This seal is large, as are all the other Kashite seals. It is of a greenish-yellowish color, shading to orange, and carries a five column inscription. The design shows two animals standing on their haunches. The heads of the two animals are identical and are decorated by a winged design. The lower part of the body of one of the animals represents a duck and the other a horse. Between the two animals is a sprig of flowers. Porada: Heraldic arangement of two long-horned animals rampant over a low bush, and a bird, with spread wings, over their heads. In the field: two lozenges and a Kassite cross. Terminal: An inscription (5 columns). Porada questions the authenticity of this piece. |
