"Charles II (1660-85). silver pattern crown. 1673. Royal Mint. Tomas Simon. 1. bust 2. divided date, four arms in cross form, C's in angles. Edge: Simon's personal petition to Charles in Latin: 'Thomas Simon most humbly prays your MAJESTY to compare this his tryall piece with the dutch and if more truly drawn & embossed more gracefully order'd and more accurately engraved to relieve him." (Note: Charles relieved him!) good."
