| Description | This Greek coin is a silver Tetradrachm from Athens in central Greece. It was struck in 229 BCE. The obverse contains a profile of Athena, Greek goddess of wisdom, war, and peace and patron of Athens, wearing a triple crested Athenian helmet. The reverse contains an owl, the symbol of Athena, standing on a prostrate amphora, head facing forward. On either side of the owl are overlapping Greek letters. |
