| Description | This Greek coin is a silver Tetradrachm or Drachm from Athens. It was struck in the mid-6th century or mid-5th century BCE. The obverse contains a profile of Athena, Greek goddess of wisdom, war, and peace and patron of Athens, wearing a crested helmet. The reverse is an owl, the symbol of Athena, head facing forward. To the right of the owl are the letters ΑΘ (Alpha Theta) denoting the coin is from Athens. |
