Research Remarks
| Description | This Greek coin is a silver Tetradrachm most likely from Macedonia in the northern part of Greece. It was struck in the late 4th century BCE. The obverse contains a profile of Hercules, son of Zeus and symbol of strength wearing his usual lion’s skin. The reverse is a seated Zeus, Greek King of the Gods, holding an eagle in his right hand and a scepter in his left. To the right of Zeus are the letters ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟ (Alpha Lambda Epsilon Xi Alpha Nu Delta Rho Omicron) for Alexander the Great. |
