Research Remarks

Description

This Greek coin is a bronze Didrachm from the ancient city Olbia on the coast of what is now Ukraine. The coin was struck between the 3rd and 1st centuries BCE. The obverse contains a profile of the river god Borysthenes. The reverse contains a battle-ax and a bow in a case. Next to this are the letters ΟΛΒΙ (Omicron Lambda Beta Iota) denoting it is from Oblia.
