Description | This Greek coin is a Didrachm from Agrigentum, modern day Agrigento on the southern side of Sicily. Sicily, as well as Italy, was part of Magna Gaecia (Great Greece) and had Greek colonies. The date the coin was stuck is unknown. The obverse contains a crab. The reverse is a closed-wing eagle surrounded by faint Greek letters. |
