| Description | This Greek coin is a silver Pentobol from Athens in Greece. It was struck in the late 3rd century BCE. The obverse is a profile of Athena, Greek goddess of wisdom, war, and peace and patron of Athens, wearing a Corinthian helmet. The reverse is an owl, the symbol of Athena, facing forward. To the right of the owl is an amphora, a distinctive Greek vessel. |
