Description | This Greek coin is a silver Triobol from Athens in Greece. It was struck in the 4th century BCE. The obverse is a profile of Athena, Greek goddess of wisdom, war, and peace and patron of Athens. The reverse is an owl, the symbol of Athena, facing forward. On either side of the owl are olive branches, the tree that Athena gifted to the Athenians. |
