Research Remarks
Published Description | Folio from music text, 21.0 cm x 34.5 cm. Colorful floral border in top left, gilded. Old block-style notation on 4 lined staves. Back side has text and music. Some wrinkling and warping. From Prof. John B. Friedman (corresp. 4/1/1985): "center section of large page which must have measured 600 mm x 345 mm. The book (an antiphonal) was written in a very calligraphic textura rotunda sine pedibus, a typical Italian script of about 1400-25, and has handsome wide left border of orange, green, gold, and pale rose acanthus with knots, in an Italian style." |
