Research Remarks
Published Description | “Irregular fragments of sandstone and limestone often exhibit different kinds of wear patterns, such as V-shaped, longitudinal grooves at various angles, surface-faceting or edge-faceting. These may result from the use of the abrasive stone for smoothing the edges of bifaces during the tool-making process; other stones may have been utilized to shape, sharpen, smooth and polish a number of different implements, such as bone awls and needles“ (Turner and Hester, 239). |
